Anime Spotlight: Flying Witch

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I am feeling a little better. I want to thank you all for reading, commenting and sympathizing with what I am going through. It means so much to me. E3 or the Electronic Entertainment Expo officially begins next week, but some of the conferences start on Saturday the 8th of June. For those who are not sure what this is I wrote a blog post months ago briefly explaining what E3 is and showing some of my favourite E3 trailers and the music used in them. If you want to read it you can find it here. I am so excited to see the latest games and will probably write about E3 once it’s all over. For this blog post, I want to talk about something a little happier than my previous posts: an anime called Flying Witch.

Flying Witch tells the story of 15-year-old witch Makoto Kowata. After turning 15 Makoto, according to tradition, has come of age. Once this happens, the witch has to leave their home to further their study of witchcraft. Makoto goes to stay with her second cousins Chinatsu Kuramoto and her older brother Kei Kuramoto. Makoto is accompanied by her familiar, a black cat named Chito. The series explores Makoto’s new life as she studies witchcraft and meets new people who will aid her on her journey.

Flying Witch is such a chill and relaxed anime. I first discovered it a few years ago when I was in university. The music is calming and the stories told in the episodes are fun, laid-back and funny. There is no action or violence; just a group of young people trying to get used to having a witch around. I really like Flying Witch, and if you are looking for something relaxing to watch I highly recommend this anime. If you want to see a little bit of it check out a clip of a scene from the first episode below.

Thank you all for reading. I hope you enjoyed this one. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will see you all in the next blog post.

Sincerely Yours,
Kojo
